New Nokia phones series in 120 countries at same time in Q2

DUBAI 30 March 2017: HMD Global announced new Nokia branded phones at Mobile World Congress finally jumping onto the Android bandwagon.

While the Nokia 6 is already selling in China, availability of the smartphone along with the Nokia 3 and 5 have not been revealed.

Now, however, the company has revealed that it will launch the entire lineup of smartphones this year in the second quarter in about 120 markets at the same time.

In a statement the company said “HMD has ambitious plans to release Nokia 3, 5 and 6 in 120 markets at same time in Q2 2017. This is ambitious because HMD is de facto a start-up, though it has support from Nokia and Foxconn.”

The Nokia 3 sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display, a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB storage, 8 MP front and rear camera, and a 2650 mAh battery. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and will be available in dual SIM.

The Nokia 5 feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, 5.2-inch IPS LCD (1280×720 pixels), 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP camera, a fingerprint sensor and a 3000 mAh battery.

The Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch full-HD display, a Snapdragon 430 SoC, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, 3000 mAh battery, 16 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and a fingerprint scanner.

As for the pricing, the Nokia 3 was announced at €139, the Nokia 5 has been priced at €189 and lastly the Nokia 6 is priced at €229.

Nokia also announced the 3310 feature phone, as a nostalgia for its consumers. Hopefully the handset will launch at the same time which is priced at €49.
