Now you have 1.3km rubber walkway on Hamriyah Beach

Built at a cost of Dh4.5 million

SHARJAH 30 August 2017: The Sharjah Public Works Department (SPWD) has completed the construction work of a 1,300-meter rubber walkway, a service building and a 3- meter wide interlock walkway on Al Hamriyah Beach, at a cost of Dh4.5 million.

The project comes in line with the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah aimed at developing the tourism sector in the emirate, said Wam.

Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SPWD, said that the project is part of SPWD’s development plan to meet the needs of the municipal councils, develop facilities and public services, improve the aesthetic and civilised landscape, keep pace with the development programmes in the emirate and encourage people to practice the sport of running in a proper healthy and natural environment.

The SPWD had earlier prepared a comprehensive study on the best way to exploit beach walkways.
