Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style

DUBAI: If you’re a diehard 007 Bond fan, then the Casino Royale Room is probably where you could be headed if you’ve got nothing to do this weekend in Dubai.

The Casino Royale room showcases all 21 known remaining original costumes, as well as copies of the seven costumes which are not known to have survived, which have been meticulously reproduced under the supervision of Oscar winning costume designer, Lindy Hemming.

Props and artwork originals, including the Casino Royale Table; Skyfall Jinxi Boat; and – for the first time ever – the Omega ‘Aqua Terra’ wristwatch worn by Daniel Craig in Skyfall; are just some of the highlights.

Tiffany Case’s pantsuit worn by Jill St. John in 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever is the oldest original female costume in the exhibition, along with one of the oldest set concept drawings in the archive, Dr. No by Sir Ken Adam.

Due to popular demand, ‘Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style’ is now on at Burj Khalifa for an extended period. The exhibition highlights the craft behind the more-than fifty-year-old franchises, focusing on its distinctly British luxuriance, at Burj Khalifa Annex.
