First step in series of innovations: Mohammed

DUBAI 10 September 2017:  A model centre for government services at Emirates Towers, was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The ‘Services 1’ centre represents a one-stop for the public to acquire services from 14 government entities. It incorporates IBM’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions and robotics technologies.

The model centre also acts as a gateway to more than 100 smart services from eight government entities through ‘SmartPass’ e-identification. Customers can also utilise robots to record audio-video suggestions on the spot.

It offers three distinct services packages to the public.

  • The ‘Mabrook Ma Yaak’ (transliterated from Arabic and means ‘congratulations on your newly born’) package prepares all the official documents for newly born babies. Pilot testing for the service is currently underway at three hospitals in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
  • The ‘Mabrook Ma Dabbart’ (transliterated from Arabic and means ‘congratulations on your marriage’) also prepares all the official documents for newly weds and opens door for those who want to submit applications for a housing loan.
  • The ‘Employment’ services package allows small companies to complete all the government paperwork for registering their workers.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the level of services at the centre that acts as a pilot for future service centres for the public to acquire government services. ‘This model centre is only the start; a step with many steps to follow and an innovation that paves the way forward for the UAE to become No.1 worldwide in government services,’ said Sheikh Mohammed.

Accompanying His Highness was Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi.

Mohammed witnesses first marriage at ‘Services 1’ 

Sheikh Mohammed witnessed the marriage of a young Emirati couple at the newly inaugurated ‘Services 1’ centre in Dubai.

He congratulated Omar Sultan Al Olama and Amal bin Shabib, who are the first couple to get married at the centre, reflecting the success of the UAE government to achieve its goal of ensuring happiness for its citizens.

The marriage ceremony was conducted using the service package “Mabrook Ma Dabbrat” which employs a smart technology in linking the centre with an official in Dubai courts to complete the marriage contract according to the Islamic Sharia and legal procedures.
