Parking in Dubai Silicon Oasis to be made easy

RTA inks agreement

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed an agreement with the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (Regulatory Authority of Dubai Silicon Oasis) and the Integrated Free Zone Technology Park with the aim of streamlining this parking lot experiencing high occupancy rate, and availing the largest possible number of parking slots for motorists.

An agreement was signed by Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency and Shahla Abdulrazak, Deputy CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA).

Maitha started the meeting by praising the extensive cooperation of the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority with RTA in various aspects and strategic interests of both parties. “There is a pressing need to streamline the parking spaces in the area to bring them in line with RTA standards. The process will curb the high occupancy rates, fend off casual parking, and prevent the misuse of parking for prolonged times. The step would also encourage the use of public transport means and ensure the availability of parking space for disabled individuals.”

Shahla expressed her delight over the signing of the Agreement with RTA. She said, “We are excited over the signing of this agreement with RTA, which would enhance the cooperation and communication in the form of government partnerships in support of strategic initiatives & projects in this regard.”

“It is our pleasure to cooperate with RTA through this strategic partnership, as it would enhance the efficiency of traffic services in the Silicon Oasis, and offer solutions to several challenges relating to mobility and parking. Through this partnership, we seek to achieve streamlined traffic flow within the Dubai Silicon Oasis in a way that meets the ambitions of investors, employees and residents. The move is in line with our strategy of providing an ideal community for living & business, and taking the Silicon Oasis to the next level of growth & development,” commented the Deputy CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority.

It is noteworthy that the Dubai Silicon Oasis is a 100 per cent Dubai Government-owned free zone that promotes technology-based large, medium and small industries that seek to have presence in Dubai.
