
DUBAI 2 September 2018: Some 1.1 million students are back to school today (Sunday, 2nd September 2018), at 616 public schools across the nation.
The Ministry of Education has made efforts to ensure a new trouble-free academic year.
Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, affirmed that the ministry had completed all preparations and arrangements in order to create an attractive, encouraging learning environment that helps students start the new 2018-2019 academic year with enthusiasm, motivation and passion.
”The strategic partnership between the ministry and parents is of vital importance in improving the learning environment in the Emirati schools,” he said.
The ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, has implemented a comprehensive plan for the maintenance of 23 schools and replacement of four old schools.
Nearly 35 schools, under 15 years old, have also seen architectural, electrical, mechanical, and health improvements.
Professionally, the ministry conducted a week-long technical training for 26,000 teachers before the launch of the new academic year.
Rulers greet students
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, tweeted “…begins our school year [to] resume the journey of education for more than one million students in our home … My words to them… from your ranks begin our dreams… and on your books will determine the future of your country… as you raise the nation… God bless you.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said: “My children students make sure that you learn from… science and knowledge and commitment to values and good morals and strengthen them in your hearts… continue your educational journey with great diligence and perseverance… excellence is our demand and our goal.
“We wish to make a better contribution to the educational process in promoting the environment that is conducive to learning, thinking and creativity. We look forward to the continuous and effective contribution of society and families to follow up our students and encourage them to achieve their aspirations and future aspirations,” he teeted.
