DUBAI 9 May 2017: A policeman was shocked to find out that a present detainee had been deported from the country seven months ago, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On March 20, Lieutenant Abdul Hadi Sayed was checking the files of all detainees in Al Rashidiya Police station.
“I was shocked to find out that one of the detainees who had that name of a Kyrgyzstani, MD, had been deported from the country since about seven months after being convicted guilty in a crime.
The officer confronted the detainee who admitted posing as MD when he was arrested and investigated because he violated the UAE residency law since 2004.
He admitted that he 32–old Russian RA, and that he had used MD’s emirates identity card when was arrested.
Police found out that the identity card the accused used was genuine and belonged to the deported Kyrgyzstani.
The court will reconvene on May 14.
