DUBAI 1 February 2018: Did ou see the rare super blue blood moon eclipse of yesterday? Here is a time lapse video of last night’s supermoon and eclipse. Have a look.
The supermoon combined three separate types of events – a blue moon – a supermoon and a total lunar eclipse.
The supermoon appeared to have been 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter because it was at its closest to the Earth.
It was also a ‘ blue moon’ as it was the second full moon in the month of January. But there was nothing ‘blue’ about it.
The third phenomenon was the total lunar eclipse – which is also why it is called a ‘blood moon’ as it appears to be red or orange in colour.
It was a very rare phenomenon.
