DUBAI 27 February 2018: Sridevi did not die following a massive cardiac arrest – but by drowning, according to the authorities in Dubai.
The Dubai Police has transferred the case to Dubai Public Prosecution, which will carry out regular legal procedures followed in such cases.
“Following the completion of post-mortem analysis, @DubaiPoliceHQ today stated that the death of Indian actress Sridevi occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment’s bathtub following loss of consciousness,” said a tweet from the Dubai Government Media Office, yesterday.
A private jet – supposedly offered by business tycoon Anil Ambani – is reported to have been sent to Dubai to fly back the body of Sridevi.
Sridevi – India’s first female superstar, Sridevi – passed away in Dubai.
Anil Ambani’s wife, Tina Munim is a former Bollywood actress herself.

Bollywood actress Sridevi – the super-performer in her recent film English Vinglish and Maa – passed away in Dubai.
Though actresses do not wish to reveal their age, Sridevi, was said to be only 54.
She was in Dubai to attend a wedding in the family, reports said.
Her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi were with her in Dubai when she died, but her elder daughter Janhvi, who is also in films, did not go to Dubai because of shooting commitments,
