Strong winds bring blowing sand and rough seas

ABU DHABI 27 February 2020: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) on Wednesday advised sea-goers in Arabian Gulf to be cautious of fresh to strong winds.

In a statement, NCM said that strong winds with a speed of over 60 km/hr, are expected along with a wave height ranging from 8 to 12 feet in the Arabian Gulf until 8 pm Thursday.

Sea-goers in Oman Sea are likewise warned of fresh to strong winds with a speed exceeding 45 km/hr, and waves of 4 to 7 feet during the same period.

Forecast for today is dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a drop in temperatures Especially westward.

Moderate to fresh winds, becoming strong at times over the sea, accompanied with suspended dust and blowing dust/sand, reducing the horizontal visibility.

Mercury will see a low of 14° in the mountains and a high of 32°C in internal areas.

Friday will be fair to partly cloudy, humid during night and Saturday morning with a chance of fog and mist formation over some coastal and internal areas. Moderate Northwesterly winds in general and fresh over the sea westward daytime, with a speed of 18 – 30, reaching 40 km/hr. The Sea will be rough at first, becoming moderate in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in Oman Sea.
