ABU DHABI 16 October 2017: Grammy-winning recording artist Kendrick Lamar is confirmed to play Friday night Yasalam After-Race Concert at the 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, said Yas Marina Circuit and Flash Entertainment.
Top Dawg Entertainment recording artist will play at the Du Arena on Friday 24th November, completing a full four-day line-up of world-class entertainment at the 2017 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Lamar will join internationally-renowned DJ Calvin Harris playing Thursday 23rd November, UK-based rockers Mumford & Sons playing Saturday 25th November, with global icon P!NK closing out the weekend on Sunday 26th November.
A California native, Lamar has received a number of accolades over the course of his career, including seven Grammy Awards. He embarked on his musical journey as a teenager under the stage name K-Dot, and quickly gained recognition in 2011 following the release of Section 80.
In early 2013, MTV named Lamar the number one Hottest MC in the Game, on their annual list. Time named Lamar one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016. Additionally, Lamar is part of Top Dawg Entertainment; the West Coast collective that includes label mates Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, SZA and Isaiah Rashad.
The announcement was made as organisers also revealed that an extra 1,000 three-day tickets for Abu Dhabi Hill will be available for purchase. Starting at AED 995 the ticket provides ticket holders access to Thursday Pit Lane Walk, all four days of racing as well as all four days of the Yasalam After-Race Concerts. Yas Marina Circuit urges people to buy quickly as this is a limited offer of a popular ticket category.
