A tree for every house in Shahama; Mizhar park opens

Al Mizhar-2 Park is spread over an area of about 1.7 hectares

ABU DHABI: The Municipality of Abu Dhabi has launched an initiative to plant a tree at every house in Al Shahama area.

Some 1,500 seedlings of fruit-trees were already distributed to citizens in Al Shahama and surrounding areas, the municipality said.

Teams from the municipality visited the houses and taught citizens how to plant and take care of the seedlings.

The new initiative, which will run to 16th March, seeks to expand green areas in all cities and urban suburbs.

Dubai Municipality opens Al Mizhar-2 Park

DUBAI: Dubai Municipality opened on Wednesday Al Mizhar-2 Park in the presence of Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director-General of Dubai Land Department, Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality and a number of senior officials.

Al Mizhar-2 Park, spread over a total area of about 1.7 hectares, is one of the neighborhood parks that serve the residents of the area.

The park, constructed by Dubai Municipality at a cost of Dh6.3 million, has 0.88 hectares of landscaping.
