Two Houthi drones shot down in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH 4 September 2019: Colonel Turki Al Maliki, Spokesman of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, said coalition forces managed to intercept and shoot down a drone launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia from Imran towards civilian targets in Khamis Mushayt, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia..

He added that the attempts of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia to launch drones are doomed to failure, as the coalition is taking all operational procedures and the best means to deal with these aircraft, in order to protect civilians and civilian targets.

According to Saudi Press Agency and Wam, Al-Maliki stressed that the command of the joint forces of the coalition is continue to implement deterrent measures against this terrorist militia, to strictly neutralise and destroy such capabilities, in accordance with international humanitarian law and customary rules.

Another Drone Intercepted

On Tuesday morning, another drone was intercepted and shot down. It was launched by the Houthi militia from the governorate of Amran in Yemen towards Saudi Arabia.

He added that the repeated failed attacks are a desperate measure to raise the morale of “terrorist elements” as they face a rising number of human losses in the conflict.

Al Maliki concluded by affirming that the coalition will continue to implement deterrent measures against the militias in an effort to neutralise and destroy their capabilities in strict adherence with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
