Another 53,859 get covid vaccine in the UAE

ABU DHABI 9 January 2021: In line with the plan of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) to vaccinate more than 50 percent of the country’s population against Covid-19, MoHAP announced that 53,859 more coronavirus vaccine were administered, bringing to 941,556 the total number of shots given so far across the nation.

In the meantime, MoHAP, along with health authorities concerned, announced the launch of a national campaign to encourage people to get vaccinated against Covid-19, specially the elderly, and people with chronic diseases.

2,950 new cases, 2,218 recoveries, and 3 deaths

MoHAP, announced that it conducted 166,435 additional Covid-19 tests, and part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced 2,950 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 224,704.

According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

MoHAP also announced 3 deaths due to Covid-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 697.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished COovid-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 2,218 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 201,396.and carry out the necessary treatment.
