1.97 million vaccinated against covid in the UAE

ABU DHABI 19 January 2021: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced that 88,743 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were given in the past 24 hours.

The total number of doses provided up to today stands at 1,971,521 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 19.93 doses per 100 people.

This is in line with the Ministry’s plan to provide the vaccine to all members of society and efforts to reach acquired immunity resulting from the vaccination, which will help reduce the number of cases and control the coronavirus.

3,471 new cases, 2,990 recoveries, 6 deaths

MoHAP also conducted 142,388 additional Covid-19 tests and announced 3,471 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 256,732.

According to the ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care, said Wam.

MoHAP also announced 6 deaths due to Covid-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 751.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished Covid-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 2,990 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 228,364.
