Eipa receives certificate for world’s largest billboard

DUBAI 16 November 2018: The Emirates Intellectual Property Association (Eipa) has received a Guinness World Records Certificate for creating the world’s largest billboard in collaboration with Dubai Police.

It was built under the theme ‘We Think like Zayed’.

The billboard, which is situated on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road towards Sharjah and beside Silicon Oasis, is 6,000 square metres in size. The billboard features leading iconic brands from inside and outside the UAE, with the “Dubai Police” brand having one of the biggest logos on the billboard.

The billboard was built in connection with the celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of Sheikh Zayed, who dedicated his life to serve the nation and raise it across various fields at both regional and global levels. The establishment of the mural reflects the continuing efforts and endeavours of the association to protect and support the country’s trademarks, especially in the protection of creativity and its creators developing a stimulating and conducive environment for innovation and adopting intellectual property practices in accordance with the international standards, said Wam.

Dr Abdul Quddoos A.R. Al Obaidli, Assistant Commander for Excellence and Pioneering, Chairman of Eipa, said, “We are happy to celebrate Sheikh Zayed’s 100th birth anniversary with the world’s biggest billboard, which reflects the importance of celebrating this occasion in our minds and hearts. We are all keen on demonstrating our determination to follow the approach of the late founding father to raise the banner of our people and contribute towards enhancing the reputation of the country as a leading centre for pioneering initiatives in the world. We hope that this achievement will serve as an inspiration to encourage all individuals and institutions to support the efforts to promote innovation and creativity as key pillars in the progress and development of the people and to drive sustainable development in the UAE.”
