DUBAI: The UAE Adventures Club team have successfully hoisted the UAE flag over the world’s highest sand dune peak in the state of Al Mazyona in the Sultanate of Oman.
Led by Abdul Halim Qayed, the team included Abdullah Al Hariz, Khalfan Al Baloushi, Amjad Al Mouaqat, and Fras Al Na’san, a mediaperson.
After walking for 15 hours, the team reached Al Mazyona state of Dhofar Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. The team then climbed to the top of the sand dune, where they hoisted the UAE flag.
“The extreme fatigue faded once we reached the peak of the sand dune, which is 455 metres above the sea,” Qayed said.
