DUBAI: Dubai Municipality has said that it will showcase its intense efforts on the UAE Food Bank and other initiatives in food safety at the upcoming Gulfood 2017.
The 22nd edition of the world’s largest food and hospitality show runs from 26th February to 2nd March at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Eman Al Bastaki, Director of the Food Safety Department, said, “Based on the wise directives of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Municipality has been mobilising wide support for the UAE Food Bank, an initiative recently launched by Sheikh Mohammed as part of the Year of Giving initiative.”
“The Dubai Municipality stall at the Gulfood exhibition will promote this important initiative to a wider audience base. We welcome the public, especially potential donors to visit our stand in the exhibition and learn more about the ways they can cooperate with this prestigious humanitarian initiative which is a source of pride as this humanitarian system will work on optimising the utilisation of food in application of social solidarity, and take advantage of food surplus in a correct, healthy and organised way,” she added.
