DUBAI 9 July 2017: During an exclusive event organized to congregate the UAE National Athletics Team ‘send-off’ to Bhubaneshwar, India for the for the 22nd Asian Athletics Championship, Harmeek Singh, the Founder and Chairman of the Plan b Group was announced as the Chief Strategist for the UAE Athletics Federation and Plan b as the Federation’s official partner.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of Plan b securing a five-year contract with Dubai Women’s Run where the group has officially undertaken and underwritten the event. The deal was signed between Harmeek Singh of Plan b Group and Mr. Saleh Mohamed Hassan, General Secretary, UAE Athletics Federation along with Mr. Ahmad Al Kamali, President, UAE Athletics Federation.
“The UAE’s national team comprising of one female and six male participants, will take part in 11 competitions during the Asian Athletics Championship. This is an important leg of performance evaluation for our athletes and they require all the support and solidarity that the Nation can provide. People remember the names of players across multiple football teams as well as key jersey numbers; however, this sentiment does not always spill over to other sports categories”, said Kamali.
“The UAE is a young but ambitious player in the global athletic scene. Plan b’s strategic advisory skills, experience and knowledge of sports marketing adds an important, additional dimension”, concluded the President of UAE Athletics Federation.
In line with the announcement, Harmeek Singh will be accompanying the UAE Athletics team and delegation at the Championship taking place from 4th to 10th July 2017.
Singh said, “this is an exciting time when private organizations are converging with government sectors to promote the UAE’s aspirations across various fields globally. Increasingly, national entities like the Athletic Federation are opting for specialist guidance to reap long-term benefits and impact across international platforms. Plan b is honored and delighted to come onboard the strategic partner of the Federation and I am personally honored to accompany the UAE Athletics team and be a part of the Nation’s representation at the Asian Athletics Championship in Bhubaneswar”.
