UAE strongly condemns Houthi missile attack on Makkah

”Targeting of the holy city of Makkah by a ballistic missile is a brazen act of aggression on the purest spot on earth and on the Islamic sacred shrines,” said H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in a statement on Friday.

“It violates sanctities and goes beyond limits,” HH Sheikh Abdullah said, and added, ”This criminal, heinous act absolutely exposes the true nature of these militias and their allies.” Houthi militias had earlier launched a ballistic missile at the holy city of Makkah, and the UAE condemned the attack in the strongest possible terms, terming it an unprecedented, dangerous escalation and ethical bankruptcy.

Not even religious or ethical boundaries seem to deter the Houthis from their crime that has angered Muslims across the world, the UAE affirmed.

”It also lays bare the nature of the Houthi rebellion and its conspiracy against our region and its stability and reaffirms our firm position against this rebellion and coup against the legitimacy in Yemen. It will reinforce our resolve and determination to succeed in our mission,” HH stressed.

He called on the Arab and Islamic world to join forces and stand united against this dangerous escalation and against whoever tries to target these sacred places, particularly the holy city of Makkah.
