Language of dialogue will convey message of peace
FUJAIRAH 28 September 2017: Sheikh Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi, known as the ‘Green Sheikh’, has stressed the importance of the language of dialogue, which he believes should be characterised by clarity, sensitivity, kind words and an intelligent approach, to convey the messages of tolerance, love and peace to people of all races and religions in the world.
He held a lecture, entitled “The Emirates: Land of Peace” on the occasion of International Day of Peace at an event organised by the Fujairah Social and Cultural Society. The lecture focused on peaceful co-existence and the values of Islam in the UAE, which enables people to live on its land in harmony, despite different religious beliefs, said Wam.
He showcased his various experiences around the world, and his promoting the role of the UAE in enhancing the values of peace and tolerance, which are rooted in the Emirati culture thanks to its founder, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He established the culture of co-existence, solidarity, respect for cultural diversity, acceptance of others, the rejection of violence and extremism, and has dedicated the name of the UAE as a global capital for tolerance and human co-existence, he added.
Al Nuaimi pointed out that his career is a step towards excellence, creativity and focus on activities that promote peace and forgiveness, as well as the environment, to preserve this beautiful planet for future generations. He explained that his philosophy of life is based upon the teachings of Islam – the religion of peace and love.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Khalifa Matar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, former director of Zayed University, and Khalid Al Dhahnani, Chairman of the Fujairah Social and Cultural Society, also attended the event.
Speaking at the event, Huda Al Dahmani, Executive Director of the Fujairah Social and Cultural Society, said, “On the International Day of Peace, the UAE embodies a unique model of religious tolerance, recognition of others, and peaceful and civilised co-existence among different nationalities and religions.”
At the end of the evening, Sheikh Ahmed Al Sharqi, accompanied by Al Dhahnani, honoured Sheikh Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi for his outstanding efforts in serving the UAE community in the humanitarian and environmental fields.
