DUBAI 24 May 2017: Additional security checks were applied to a Virgin Atlantic aircraft in Dubai on Tuesday.
Dubai Airports said in a statement that the Virgin flight was delayed whilst additional security checks were carried out in close cooperation with Dubai Police and the airline, following which the aircraft was cleared for departure.
Newspapers reported a bomb scare had delayed the flight VS401, a Dubai to London service, which was due to depart Dubai at 10.53am local time, and arrive in London at 5pm yesterday afternoon.
Passengers were reportedly evacuated till the plane was swept and cleared for take-off.
