Weather Alert: Lightening on the ground – Arrogate!

from last to first - that's what champs are made of

DUBAI 26 March 2017: The rains held off but there was lightening on the ground as Arrogate streaked in from last place at the start to ‘unbelievably’ win the world’s richsest horse race – Dubai World Cup 2017.

The Americans had a 1,2 and 3 finish as Gun Runner and Neolithic came 2nd and 3rd respectively behind Arrogate.

Gun Runner was comfortable throughout the race at second place just behind Long River – with commentators predicting his win.

But he stayed that way [in second place] as Arrogate came out of nowhere and pipped him by more than a length. What a race it was.

Bob Baffert, third time winner-owner of Dubai World Cup, said the way the race was run, was not planned. But it still was ‘unbelievable’.

When the gates opened, Arrogate started last with Long River in te lead and Gun Runner and Neolithic in 2nd and 3rd.

Then at 550 metres to go, Gun Runner took the lead with Neolithic breathing down his neck.

In the meantime, Arrogate was surely passing rivals and and just 200 metres to go to the finish line, he came out of nowhere and took the lead and held it.

With the ‘fantastic’ win, Arrogate broke last year winner California Chrome’s record of $17 million in prize money.

2017 belongs to Arrogate. Who will it be in 2018?
