Were you on the Dubai Metro when it got stuck?

By Rajive Singh

DUBAI 6 March 2018: Were you on the Dubai Metro when it got stuck yesterday? The service was eventually restored, but one does wonder what do passengers do when the train stops working.

But hats off to Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) – operators of the Metro – for not only getting the service back up and running, but keeping the public informed as to the progress.

Earlier yesterday, RTA tweeted: “#RTA announces a temporary disruption of Dubai Metro service between ADCB metro station and First Gulf Metro Station. The technical teams are working to restore the service earliest possible.”

Apparently, it took about two hours for the service to resume when another tweet said: #RTA announces the return of Dubai metro service back to normal and thanks the metro riders for their cooperation, wishing them a pleasant journey onward”.
