Woman weighing 500kg bed-ridden for 25 years

Began putting on weight at age 11

A 36-year-old Egyptian woman has been bed-ridden at home unable to move around for around 25 years because of her excessive weight, which has reached nearly 500 kg.

Eman Abdul Atti from the Northern Egyptian port of Alexandria began gaining weight so fast that she was forced to stay in bed at the age of 11 years.

A few years later, her case was complicated when she suffered from a stroke and could nolonger speak or move her legs.

“She has been to many doctors and hospitals but there is no improvement,” her sister Shaima said, quoted by the Saudi news network Alarabiya.

She said her sister had undergone a weight-loss surgery but it did not work.
