DUBAI: Television news lovers were bonded to their screen last evening as the terror drama at Westminster in London unfolded – the attack that killed 5 people and injured 40.
One of the killed was the attacker, who is said to have rammed his car into people on the approach bridge and then raced into the Parliament building, stabbing a police officer [who later died], before being shot himself.
Doctors attending to the victims said some of them had ‘horrific’ injuries.
Central London has been in a lock-down for hours and Members of Parliament stuck inside. British Prime Minister Theresa May was safely escorted back to her residences at 10 Downing Street.
US President Donald Trump has been briefed on the attack.
The attack started at 2.40pm London time – even 5 hours later – central London was in lock-down status.
Investigation has started. Police believe there was only one attacker armed with a knife.
More police officers have been placed on London streets.
Londin Metropolitan Police have appealed to people to come forward to report any sight, video or pictures they may have access to.
