DUBAI 1 July 2017: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has come forward with a financial contribution in response to an appeal by residents of the village of Godolphin in the County of Cornwall, England, to buy a chapel and convert it into a community centre.
The residents of the village in Cornwall earlier appealed to Sheikh Mohammed to buy the chapel in their village and turn it into a community centre, according to the wishes of the villagers. The BBC reported this on its website..

Dr. Hanif Hassan Al Qasim, Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue, has praised the humanitarian initiative of Sheikh Mohammed, said Wam.
Al Qasim stressed that the initiative reflects the conscious vision of a distinguished leadership, which exhibits a qualitative and practical approach to spreading the values of tolerance, co-operation and solidarity among people, as well as respecting their beliefs and cultures.
He explained that Islam’s principles of tolerance, renunciation of violence, freedom of belief, co-existence and co-operation with others, “constitute a vision of the UAE’s judicious leadership – an extension to the legacy of the late founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”
Al Qasim referred to the keenness of the leadership on encouraging citizens to share and exchange their experiences and harness modern technologies. This, he continued, contributes to raising awareness towards developing the concepts of national identity and humanitarian co-operation through openness to other cultures, with a view of presenting the correct image of Islam, he added.
