Al Zorah’s 2 major retail, leisure offering

Marina 1 Park and Linear Park to provide residents and visitors with several F&B options, entertainment and outdoor activities

Al Zorah – a premier waterfront lifestyle project by Solidere International and the Government of Ajman – announced two major retail and leisure offerings within the development, Marina 1 Park and Linear Park, at Cityscape Global 2016.

Both these projects will offer residents and visitors within Al Zorah’s five districts several choices of retail, leisure & entertainment options.

Marina 1 Park is centred around Al Zorah’s first marina, Marina 1, which is fully constructed and fitted out, and will be open for operation by the end of 2016. The Park will provide visitors and residents with a choice of globally recognised F&B options, a water sports centre, a children’s play area, a Yacht Club and other entertainment options.

Adding to the landscaping at Al Zorah is Linear Park that acts as an aesthetic green buffer between the denser residential communities and the beachfront resorts and properties, providing an opportunity for people to relax and use it as a community park.

Imad Dana, CEO of Al Zorah Development Company, said: “Marina 1 will have a spectacular view of the 2 million square metres of natural mangroves and have easy access to the 12 km waterfront.  With Marina 1 Park, Al Zorah will now be able to offer people from the UAE and tourists with unique opportunities to indulge in outdoor water activities with access to other retail offerings.”

Supported by a world class operator, Marina 1 Park watersport activities will provide residents and visitors more active pursuits like sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and kite surfing, discovering the marine, animal, and plant life on Al Zorah’s shores and in its lagoons.

Marina 1 also offers berthing facilities for boats and yachts between 8 meters and 40 meters in length and sea rescue will also be on offer on a 24-hour basis with a harbor master building.

“Extensive marina facilities mean that arriving by sea – whether by water taxi from neighboring emirates or private yacht – is simplicity itself,” Dana further added.

“Al Zorah’s careful planning to create open and public green spaces – which currently stands at 60 percent of the overall development – makes Al Zorah an inviting realm for residents and visitors. Linear Park also brings the various communities from around the five districts together, an intentional objective Al Zorah is careful to achieve,” he added.

Work is currently underway and all necessary supporting infrastructure and road works are due for completion by end of 2016.
Dana continued: “All the districts are inter-accessible on foot along a route where vehicular traffic is limited, which creates a community feeling. Fundamental to Al Zorah is the formation of public spaces connecting the urban fabric to the water’s edge. This includes everything from large parks and plazas to pedestrian routes, promenades, and sidewalks creating areas of interaction and activity with premium views and catering to a range of recreational needs within close proximity to residences.”

The arrival sequence for Al Zorah visitors is carefully orchestrated through the infrastructure network layout and the transition between the districts. Pedestrian movement will be further enhanced by jogging, bicycle, and golf cart trails, encouraging a healthy outdoor lifestyle.
