Apply by 13 April for domestic worker recruitment licence

Tadbeer Centre licence requires bank guarantee of Dh500,000

DUBAI 9 April, 2017: Potential investors are invited to tender their application to obtain an operational licence for the recently launched Tadbeer Service Centres before 13th April, 2017.

The centres are scheduled to begin operating by the fourth quarter of the current year, offering exclusive services that are dedicated to domestic workers, mandated and regulated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Tadbeer centres will replace domestic workers recruitment agencies. Those who need domestic workers can go to a Tadbeer centre and get the required help.

Applications will be evaluated on 20th April and 11th May, followed by feedback reports by 15th May to start the pre-operational phase.

Aisha Belharfia, Assistant Under-Secretary for Domestic Worker Affairs, met with over 150 potential investors in Dubai to discuss related challenges, as well as present terms and regulations.

“We have placed a list of requirements and conditions to the investors,” Belharfia said.

“Applicants aged 21 or above are welcome to apply, but ministry staff or first-degree families are excluded. Investors and partners must provide a good conduct report prior to the request,” she added. “Applicants must provide the ministry with a bank guarantee of Dh500,000,” she further added.

The centres must be inviting, spacious and accessible. Proposed locations for the centres must be on the ground floor and fitted out according to a design set by the ministry, with a minimum area of 4,000 square feet. Customer parking must also be available.

Tadbeer is aimed at rationalising the domestic worker recruitment process to the satisfaction of the government, the licensee, the worker and the customer.

It will guarantee proper visa, orientation and training for the workers, resolving disputes, and checking on worker accommodation.

It is expected to reduce cases of workers absconding.
