An Asian allegedly conned a businessman into purchasing someone else’s apartment for Dh925,650, heard the Dubai Criminal Court on Sunday.
BK, Indian, with the help of a fugitive accomplice, forged an apartment ownership certificate to dupe an Egyptian businessman, WA, 51. BK, who posed as the apartment owner and swindled cash from WA, acknowledged the crime during police interrogation.
WA told the court that the was looking for an apartment when he met BK’s accomplice who deceived him. “He convinced me that BK was selling an apartment in Business Bay and I agreed to purchase it.”
The court will issue verdict on December 13.
