One million vaccinated against Covid-19 in the UAE

ABU DHABI 10 January 2021: In line with its plan to vaccinate more than 50 percent of the country’s population against Covid-19, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that 78,793 people have got a coronavirus vaccine over the last 24 hours.

This brings to 1,020,349 the total number of jabs taken so far across the nation at 10.32 doses per 100 people.

In the meantime, MoHAP, along with health authorities concerned, announced the launch of a national campaign to encourage people to get vaccinated against Covid-19, specially the elderly, and people with chronic diseases, said Wam.

2,998 new cases, 2,264 recoveries, 5 deaths

MoHAP conducted 168,770 additional Covid-19 tests over the past 24 hours and  announced 2,998 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 227,702. According to the Ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

MoHAP also announced 5 deaths due to Covid-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 702.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished Covid-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 2,264 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 203,660.and carry out the necessary treatment.
