25% of UAE population gets first dose of vaccine

ABU DHABI 25 January 2021: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced that 60,991 additional doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered.

The total number of doses provided stands at 2,487,784 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 25.15 doses per 100 people, said Wam.

MoHAP conducted 179,117 additional Covid-19 tests, and announced 3,579 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 277,955.

MoHAP also announced 9 deaths due to Covid-19 complications, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 792.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and wished Covid-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MoHAP also noted that an additional 4,166 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 251,484.
