DHA hospitals carried out 30,000 surgeries in 2016

DUBAI

Around 30,000 surgeries were conducted in Rashid Hospital, Dubai Hospital, Hatta Hospital and Latifa Hospital in 2016, the Dubai Health Authority, DHA, has revealed.

Dr. Ahmad bin Kalban, CEO of Hospital Services Sector at the Dubai Health Authority, said out of the 29,915 surgeries conducted in 2016, 15,163 were minor while 14,752 were identified as major.

He said that 10,492 surgeries were conducted in Dubai Hospital, the top five of which were ophthalmic, urology, general, obstetric, and ENT.

Dr. Bin Kalban said in Rashid Hospital 10,501 surgeries were conducted, which included traumatology, general surgery, neuro surgery, plastic surgery and faciomaxillary.

In Latifa Hospital 8,077 surgeries were conducted. The top five were pediatrics, gynaecology, obstetrics, circumcision and general.

In Hatta Hospital, 845 surgeries were conducted, including general surgery, orthopedic, obstetrics and gynaecology, endoscopy, and ENT.

“All DHA hospitals perform a high number of surgeries on a regular basis using the latest state-of-the-art technology and highly qualified professionals. At the DHA, our utmost priority is patient-centric care and we are continuing to expand our services as well as provide specialised and super-specialised care,” said Dr. Bin Kalban.
