DP World sponsors Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament

Competition begins on Wednesday October 19

The Organising Committee of Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament has announced the list of sponsors of this event organised by the Woman’s Sports Committee of the Dubai Sports Council from October 19 to 31.

Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament is being held under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of DSC, and the patronage of Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

DP World comes top in the sponsors list of the 4th edition of the Tournament. It also comprises other 16 local and national companies. They are Dubai Refreshments Co. (Pepsi and Aquafina), Dahmani Jewelry, Madior Hospital, Dubai Sports Channel, Dubai Woman Establishment, Adidas, Al Marai, Dubai Sports Stars Academy, Clint & Welfard & Sons, Bockarie Sweets, Ronaldo Restaurants, Unix Sports Facilities Co., Mais International Co., Livcycling–me, Cycle DDE and Wolves & Hones.

Moza Al Marri, Board Member of DSC, Chairwoman of the Woman’s Sports Committee of DSC and Head of the Organising Committee of the Tournament, thanked companies which have sponsored this Tournament.

She said: “The massive rush of local and international companies to sponsor Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament is a clear evidence for the distinctive status and the remarkable success of the Tournament. The sponsoring companies are keen to support the sports sector in general and the women’s sport in particular.”

The tournament will commence with the bowling competition on October 19 at Dubai International Bowling Center, Al-Mamzar.

The chess competition will be held on October 20 at Dubai Chess & Culture Club, while the road race competition is scheduled for Friday October 21 at Al Khawaneej Racetrack.

The cycling competition will take place at Nad Al Sheba Cycling Racetrack on Saturday October 22.

The basketball, handball and volleyball competitions will be held on October 25 at Dubai World Trade Center.

The badminton competition is scheduled for October 26 also at Dubai World Trade Center, while the swimming competition is to take place at Al Wasl Sports Club on October 28.
