Dr. Azad Moopen awarded FRCP Fellowship

DUBAI 26 October 2019: Founder Chairman & Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, Dr. Azad Moopen, has been awarded with a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), UK.

The prestigious accolade is presented to a select number of physicians across the world who have displayed a significant contribution to the medical and healthcare profession.

Dr. Moopen was elected for his valuable contribution and efforts in shaping the healthcare service industry in the GCC and India over the past three decades. He has also been recognized for his commitment to make quality healthcare affordable and accessible to patients in the region.

Founded in 1518 by a Royal Charter from King Henry VIII, the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) of London is the oldest medical establishment in England. It is an independent, patient centered and clinically led organization, that drives improvement in the diagnosis of disease, the care of individual patients and the health of the world’s population. The RCP continues to play a pivotal role in raising standards and shaping public health today.

Dr. Moopen was granted a Fellowship following a stringent review of his achievements by the RCP, as well as endorsement from local and international colleagues, establishing him as an exceptional healthcare leader.

Dr. Moopen achieved an MBBS & MD from the Calicut Medical College with a gold medal in Medicine, followed by a Diploma in Chest Diseases at Delhi University. He then lectured on Internal Medicine at Calicut Medical College for five years. In addition to spearheading the establishment of Aster DM Healthcare which now has a presence in nine countries with over 3000 doctors, Dr. Moopen also established a Medical College in India with an intake of 150 MBBS students a year.
