Driver Alert: Hailstorm [?], lightening rains, gusty winds to lash UAE

ABU DHABI, 24th March, 2017: The weather is going to be unsettled with even hailstorm forecast in parts of UAE, along with gusty winds and lots of rain today.

Even though our own weather agency NCMS forecast rains till Monday, BBC says sunshine may start appearing over UAE skies by Sunday.

Friday was rain, rain and more rain -killing outdoors activity for the weekend.

SATURDAY: Unstable weather in general. Cloud amount will increase over most areas, associated with a rainfall of different intensity over scattered areas, and may be thundery at times. Fresh winds in general and strong at times over the Sea, causing blowing sand/ dust with poor visibility, especially over exposed areas. Sea will be rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate, rough at times in Oman Sea especially with Cloud activity.

YESTERDAY: Moderate to heavy rains fell over various parts of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. They were accompanied by medium-speed winds which led to a notable drop in temperature.

The skies remain cloudy in several parts of the emirate promising more showers.
