DUBAI 16 February 2019: The world’s busiest airport – Dubai – was closed for about half an hour yesterday because of danger to aircraft in the air from unauthorised drone activity.

“Dubai Airports confirms that operations at Dubai International are back to normal after less than 30 minutes of delay due to unauthorized drone activity,” said a tweet from the Dubai Government Media Office.

“Authorities warned that flying drones without obtaining permission is subject to legal liability as per UAE laws,” it pointed out.

While the airport authorities were dealing with the drone activity, passengers were not aware of what was going on.

“Dubai airport going nowhere due to drone flying around. So thousands of people sitting in planes going nowhere. What is wrong with people flying drones near airports!!!,” said a passenger in his tweet.
