Drug Alert: UAE Police goes hi-tech on drug use… and abuse

We use advanced methods to tackle drug use: Abu Dhabi Police

ABU DHABI 26 June 2017: The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ has honoured its strategic partners and outstanding recruits for their efforts in combatting drug use, during a celebration held under the patronage and attendance of Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Commander-In-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police.

Al Rumaithi said that Abu Dhabi Police uses advanced methods to check for drug use and limit its spread. He emphasised the importance of cooperation between concerned officials and authorities in the community for a drug-free society. He also highlighted the importance of creating awareness.

He said that families have a major responsibility in keeping children from away from such addictions. Parents should establish the correct foundation to prevent cases of drug abuse and poisoning. He further informed that the Abu Dhabi Police strives to create a safe society without drugs. This is in line with the national strategy for dealing with narcotics. He praised the exceptional efforts of strategic partners in tackling the abuse of drugs.

The event was attended by several Abu Dhabi Police GHQ representatives, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of School Operations Sector in the Abu Dhabi Education Council; Mohammed Khadem Al Hameli, Director-General of the General Administration of Customs in the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance; Dr. Hamad Al Ghaferi, Director-General of the National Rehabilitation Centre; Faisal Al Hamadi, Head of Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution; Mohammed Rashid Al Danhani, Head of Bani Yas Public Prosecution; Abdullah Al Shaer, Head of the Al Rahba Public Prosecution, and Rashid Saqr Al Dhaheri from Bani Yas Public Prosecution.
