Dubai adopts new, safer workers housing scheme

Dubai Customs to use AI to enhance productivity by 35%

DUBAI 23 May 2019: The Executive Council has adopted the Dubai Workers Housing Scheme, which aims to create a safe and healthy society, according to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the council.

The scheme also aims to raise the state of security index in the workers’ housing areas by providing urgent and sustainable action for the reported events in these areas in cooperation with Dubai Police.

“We have adopted a project by the Dubai Police to create safer and healthier communities in the workers’ housing areas to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading place to live and work and build global best practices in this area,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

“Today I chaired a Dubai Executive Council meeting in which we approved Dubai Customs’ ‘Productivity Engine’ project. Its goal is to employ artificial intelligence and enhance productivity by 35%,” he added.
