Dubai cops give away cars to two ‘good’ drivers

DUBAI 31 May 2018: Two cars were given away by Dubai Police to motorists who were observed to be ‘good’ drivers.

The winners were Emirati Shams Matar Fairuz Saqr, and David Christophe of USA. They won the cars on the white points system organized by the General Directorate of Traffic in cooperation with its strategic partners.

The keys were handed over by Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Assistant Commanding General for Operations at Dubai Police, in the presence of Colonel Juma bin Suwaidan , Deputy General Directorate of Traffic Manager, and Lieutenant Colonel Salah Abdullah Al Hammadi, Director Department of follow-up violations,

Christophe won the first Hyundai car, while Shams won the second Nissan car for the “Youth Amanah 2018” initiative, a special initiative for young drivers aged 18 to 21 who have temporary driving license.

Al Zafin congratulated the winners, praising their commitment to traffic laws, stressing that the white points system aims to honor and motivate outstanding drivers who are committed to traffic laws and regulations, driving safely, avoiding mistakes of others and creating a safe traffic environment that increases the sense of security on the road from all users.

Shams called on all youth and girls of all generations to abide by the laws governing the traffic movement, and not to interfere with the exposure of their lives and the lives of their families and others at risk.

The White Points system encourages drivers to abide by traffic laws in order to safeguard their lives and lives of other road users.
