Al Marri honours 4 policemen for helping Omani visitors

DUBAI 2 July 2019: An Omani family, whose car broke down on their way back from Dubai were speedily helped by four of Dubai’s policemen. They even hosted the 13-member family till their car was repaired and they could head back home.

Their deed did not go unnoticed. Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, honored the four for helping Jamal bin Suleiman Al Kamshaki, Omani national, and his family after their vehicle broke down on Airport Road on their return journey to Oman.

The swift action and help came to notice when the Omani visitor posted his thanks on social media for Dubai Police’s sense of humanity and professionalism in handling the situation, as well as their quick response to his call for help.

Maj-Gen Marri presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to:

  • First Sergeant Ali Mohammad Ali Al Jazai
  • Police Officer Mohammad Zaid Nasr
  • Police Officer Abdul Latif Hamid Al Nadabi and
  • Police Officer Abdul Wahid Abdul Samad

He said their actions motivate and encourage employees of Dubai Police to exert more efforts in providing high quality services to the community.

How it Happened

The Dubai Police Command and Control Center received a call from an Omani visitor for help after his car broke down in a dangerous area on the Airport Road. The four policemen moved to the place in a record time.

There were 13 persons in the GMC family vehicle, including children, women and elderly people. They were transferred to a police vehicle and a taxi. A tow truck was required to move their car to the repair shop.

Since the visitors were on their return journey to Oman, the four employees decided to support them until they received their car and complete their trip.
