Dubai Police is developing VR games for residents

DUBAI 28 September 2018: Dubai’s first of its kind in the region Virtual Police Centre, is developing virtual three-dimensional and two-dimensional applications and programs – for the police force – and for residents.

Many virtual applications such as virtual criminal investigation, virtual traffic investigation, body language, raiding, virtual training to combat human trafficking, virtual shooting, are part of the centre’s development efforts.

Brigadier General Khalid Nasser Al Razzouqi, Director General of Artificial Intelligence Department, said an important aspect of police work is using simulations and games that allows trainees to learn and practice by harnessing his skills in a safe and practical environment.

For Residents

Brig Al Razzouqi affirmed that Dubai Police is committed to establishing  social responsibility in residents through VR, which isone of the best ways to spread awareness because of the widespread popularity of games on various devices.

These games contain educational messages in an interesting format for young and old. Several games have been provided at the electronic games stores (Apple and Google stores) and the SPS smart centers.

Brig Al Razzouqi said that the Center for Virtual Technology has obtained the intellectual property rights certificates for 35 projects from the Ministry of Economy in the UAE. The Center has won more than 63 local and international awards in three years.
