Dubai prison dad gets daughter’s birthday surprise

DUBAI 8 November 2018: A Colombian prisoner in Dubai received the surprise of his life when his eight-year-old daughter  walked in with her mother and grandmother to celebrate her eighth birthday with her dad.

The General Directorate of Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai Police surprise for its guest at the Central Prison coincided with the celebration of the UAE Day of Science.

The Central Prison Administration celebrated the birthday of the 8-year-old girl, gave her a birthday cake and gifts.

The prisoner recently converted to Islam and has memorised ten parts of the Book of God. He showed commitment to the rules and ethics of the prison. The Dubai prisons committee of events granted the wish of the prisoner to see his daughter.

He expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Dubai Police and to the Central Prison Department for this beautiful gesture which had a great impact on himself, especially as he awaited the birthday of his daughter eagerly, and was ready with a “blouse”. He was going to call her and congratulate her over the phone, but the surprise prepared by the Central Prison Administration, was greater than his wishes, and exceeded all expectations and achieved the dream long-awaited years ago.

At the end of this joyful celebration, the mother of the girl and her grandmother thanked Dubai Police and the General Directorate of Punitive and Correctional Institutions for their humanitarian effort.

On this occasion, Lt. Col. Jamila Al Zaabi, Director of the Women’s Prison Department at the General Administration of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, and Chairperson of the Events Committee, congratulated the leadership and the Dubai Police General Command on the occasion of the State Day celebration.
