DUBAI 26 August 2018: It happened a few days ago, but we thought perhaps you may not have heard that a young man aboard an Emirates flight, proposed to the apple of his eye while they both were flying to Dubai.
And, the good news is that – she accepted.
While Emirates’ EK303 flight from Shanghai was humming along smoothly in the sky on its way to Dubai, a Chinese passenger, got up and in front of the crew and other travellers, asked a Chinese girl to marry him, according to news reports.
Emirates Airline’s Twitter account tweeted the one-minute video with the #loveintheairK tag.
The man asked Emirates crew if he could propose over the public address system – and they happily colluded. Minutes later, passengers were surprised to hear a male voice saying: “I am very grateful for the continuous support over the past years, and this is what I want forever, I want to build a family with you throughout my life.”
The plane erupted in squeals of delight and some hardy clapping as the man then whipped out and presented a wedding ring to the woman who accepted the proposal instantly and put the ring round her finger.
The crew then organised a party for the couple.
Watch a very romantic proposal on our flight EK303 from Shanghai to Dubai on Chinese Valentine’s Day. Congratulations to the happy couple! #Loveisintheair pic.twitter.com/k9cebrlwxg
