Falcon sold for Dh280,000 in auction

Sold hours after it was caught in Saudi

A Saudi hunter sold his falcon for nearly SR 280,000 (Dh280,000) at an action in the Gulf kingdom just hours after he caught the bird alive.

The bird was sold to a falcon fan at the auction centre in the Western Red Sea port of Al Lith, according to Sada newspaper.

Saudi Arabia has many auction centres for falcons and other rare birds, some of which could fetch more than Dh1 million.
