Sharjah Police smashed an international ring targeting local banks by arresting five of its members in the emirate, newspapers reported on Tuesday.
The five confessed to stealing many bank clients through their visa cards and accounts in collaboration with an international gang abroad.
Emarat Al Youm daily quoted police as saying the five were arrested after they were trapped as they prepared for more operations.
They said the five of various nationalities carried their robberies with the help of some jewellery shops, hotel managers and other business.
