FNC queries ‘relatively high’ fees for federal services

ABU DHABI 12 December 2018: The Federal National Council (FNC) held its fourth session of the of the 16th legislative chapter in Abu Dhabi yesterday, which was presided over by its Speaker Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi.

During the session, the FNC questioned the Minister of State for Finance, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer on the relatively high fees of federal services.

Members also asked him about the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund’, said Wam.

Addressing the session, Al Tayer said the ministry has finalised a draft federal law on health insurance, which is scheduled for submission to the technical committee at the ministry and to the legislations committee.

The FNC passed two draft laws on the consolidated closing accounts of the federations and of the independent entities for the fiscal year ending on 31st December 2017, and on the federal budgets, as well as the budgets of independent entities for the fiscal year 2019.

The members also tabled a question to Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development.
