GoAir direct flights between Abu Dhabi and tourism fav Kannur

ABU DHABI 3 March 2019: GoAir airlines will roll out direct flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport in the UAE and the newly opened Kannur International Airport in the southern Indian state of Kerala.

GoAir now flies to 4 International destinations from India – Phuket, Malé, Muscat and Abu Dhabi.

GoAir will launch of four flights operating every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The inaugural flight from Kannur to Abu Dhabi was received with much fanfare yesterday, as the Indian subcontinent remains one of the most popular destinations for travelers departing from AUH. In addition, Kannur itself is popular leisure and business destination within the state of Kerala, said Wam.

Maarten De Groof, Chief Commercial Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “As one of our most promising new partners, we are pleased to welcome GoAir’s flights to Abu Dhabi. India has always been one of our largest and most important areas of operations.”

The Abu Dhabi route was opened under a partnership with Safar Travel & Tourism, a member of Alfahim Group, which will act as the general sales agent for GoAir in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

With the inaugural flight from Kannur to Abu Dhabi International Airport taking off this March, GoAir will offer direct flights on Airbus 320neo with two cabin configurations, economy ‘GoSmart’ and business ‘GoBusiness’.

GoAir’s flight schedule will provide passengers with four direct flight services per week at an attractive all-inclusive one-way fare of Dh435.

Kannur International Airport is expected to serve more than one million passengers annually, and authorities estimate the number will increase fivefold by 2025. With approximately 2.8 million Indian nationals living in the UAE, Safar Travel & Tourism’s strategic agreement with GoAir means a large segment of the Abu Dhabi community can now benefit from the company’s extensive range of professional, convenient and low-cost travel services. Travelers will be able to book flights to any of GoAir’s 22 domestic destinations with ease.
