World’s most popular language test can now be done through traditional paper-based method or on computer
DUBAI 2 March 2019: IELTS [International English Language Testing System], the world’s most popular language test – especially for migration to English-speaking countries such as Canada, Australia etc. – can now be taken on computer.
The new option at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) starting March 1, 2019, offers faster results and greater test availability.
“Test-takers will have more choice in terms of time and dates, and faster turn-around time to receive their results”, said Dr Debra McDermott, Director, UOWD College.
The test content and structure remain the same, whether taking IELTS on computer or paper and, importantly, the Speaking Test remains face-to-face with a certified IELTS Examiner
Darrin Vardon, Director, IELTS Operations Middle East & Eastern Europe, IDP Education, said more people than ever are looking to improve their English to advance their global career opportunities.
“IDP, a proud co-owner of IELTS, is introducing computer-delivered IELTS at its test centres around the world. We are pleased to offer this option in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. More computer-delivered testing locations in the UAE will be added in the coming months,” Vardon added.
Test takers can register for computer delivered IELTS by booking on my.ieltsessentials.com or email their queries to cdielts@uowdubai.ac.ae.
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration, with more than 3 million tests taken in the last year. Over 10,000 organisations trust and accept IELTS as a secure, valid and reliable indicator of true to life ability to communicate in English.
