Indian consulate to open on weekends, holidays

The Indian consulate in Dubai will remain open during all holidays (including Fridays and Saturdays) from 8 to 10 am to address emergency requirements of the general public from August 1, 2020. This will continue till December 31, 2020.

It advised all that before coming to the consulate for any emergency service, they should call our 24×7 helpline numbers to ascertain pre-requisite of supporting documents for these services and to ensure that they really fall in the category of emergency services, which cannot be postponed to next working day of the consulate.

This facility is only for emergency requirements of travel documents such as passports, emergency certificates and visas, only for exceptional cases. For passport renewal cases, people are advised to fill online application at https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in/ and take printout, latest light background photographs, first and last page copy of passport, Visa copy/Emirates ID number and documentary proof of emergency.

Change in personal particulars are not allowed in emergency passport renewal services. As on date, normal visa services are suspended. However, for emergency visa requirement, you are advised to visit website at https://www.cgidubai.gov.in/page/categories-of-visa/ to ascertain the requirement of documents before coming to consulate including proof of emergency. Visa form is required to be filled in consulate.

Besides this, labour cases and other distress cases requiring emergency interventions on part of the consulate can also approach during these hours. All applicants coming to the consulate to avail of these services must call 24×7 helpline numbers given below to allow access into the consulate (for access a Unique Reference Number will be given).

General concerns on different issues including labour issues will not be entertained during this time as they can be dealt with on working days only. Further, local security does not allow large presence of people after office hours and holidays in diplomatic area. Hence, only people with genuine emergencies should approach the consulate on these days.
